High School Dos and Donts

get discouraged, follow “the trend,” get caught up in all the hype.

They’re not necessarily the BEST days of your life, there are many better ones to come after, but only if you work hard and stay true.

A lot of the social crap does not matter after you leave.

It’s also important to have a small amount of really good friends who care. Don’t end up being really popular and realize nobody really cares about you that much after all.

work hard, be kind, be active.

Also, it’s good to understand that 90% of the stuff you experience in high school (non academically) is in fact trivial, so don’t sweat it.

have fun. Live life to the fullest. Party it up when your young because it’s not as fun when your older.

complain when you have a tough teacher. Chances are that they are the ones that you will look back and thank them for being hard on you. Plus the real world is probably going to be much worse.

focus on GPA. Focus on improvement. Everyone has different needs with education. As long as you show improvement you are doing alright. Grades won’t tell you how you will survive in the real world.

your homework and don’t slack off.
Work hard but make a balance between work and play.

wrap it before you tap it. No fun to have a kid at 15 and it’s also no fun to avoid sex till marriage. So if you’re going to do it, do it the right way.

let all of the drama get to you. It may seem important now, but seriously, take a step back, and look at everything objectively.

forget that in four years all these people will be gone and you will stay in close contact with at most a dozen of them.

remember that you are only in high school and that you have your entire life left to live!!
